I began working as a full-time freelance writer and journalist after many years in TV news, and a stint in media relations. 

During a lengthy TV career spanning more than two decades, I worked as a reporter, anchor, producer, and newsroom manager for outlets including the American Forces Network in Europe (Frankfurt, Germany and Crete, Greece), CNN International in Atlanta, and stations in Virginia and Kentucky. As a reporter, I covered a variety of beats including, crime, politics, general assignment, and features. I also wrote and produced a number of TV newscasts, live shows, and documentaries. 

These days I spend most of my time writing about travel, food & drink, music, culture, lifestyle, and extraordinary people, for a variety of print and online publications.

I also work as a contract writer for businesses and organizations in need of profile pieces, web content, press releases, press kit materials, marketing assistance, and more.
